Oats Porridge serves as a healthy meal for babies. It can be paired with any fruit puree or simply with honey and milk. But for fussy eaters, sweet versions of oats porridge can be boring. Savory Oats Porridge for Babies
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 ½ cup water
- Pinch of Turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp of roasted Cumin powder
- Pinch of freshly crushed black pepper powder ( optional)
- Salt to taste
Method:
1. Put the oats in a saucepan and add water to it.
2. Add turmeric powder and cook the mixture on a medium flame for about 7-10 minutes or until the oats are cooked. Season the porridge with roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder and salt.
3. Mix well , cook for 1 minute or so and put off the flame.
4. Serve plain or add any vegetable puree to this savory porridge depending on what your baby likes.
Adding simple spices like roasted cumin powder or black pepper powder can transform any porridge. You can also try herbs or Italian seasonings, or opt for vegetable purees to add some nutrition along with taste!
