When it comes to spices, jeera is considered to be the best and important spice to be added in baby foods. Jeera rice recipe for babies is very simple to make and it has many health benefits as well. Jeera has many medicinal properties, top of it is, it helps in improving the immunity and gut health. It’s filled with antioxidants and good to be added in baby foods after 6 months itself. Initially jeera can be introduced in powdered form and then gradually it can be used as it is. This rice recipe can be made in a jiffy and given as a lunch box recipe. Jeera rice recipe is suitable for babies after 8 months.
Jeera rice recipe for babies
Ingredients:
- Rice – 1/2 cup
- Jeera – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves (chopped) – 1tsp
Method:
1. Wash rice and keep aside. Heat ghee in a cooker.
2. Add jeera and let it splutter.
3. Add curry leaves and let it splutter.
4. Saute.
5. Add rice and saute again.
6. Add 1.5 cups of water to it.
Note: Add salt for babies above 1 year.
7. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
8. Jeera rice is ready to be served.
You can make a super healthy twist to this yummy jeera rice. Adding a spoon of dal powder of My little moppet foods can make it even more delicious and protein rich.
