Quinoa is one of the healthiest foods around, and most weight watchers make it a part of their diet. But it’s not just the adults who can benefit from it; little babies can too! Quinoa has almost twice as much fiber as most grains, which means a smooth and easy digestion for your little one. It is also extremely rich in protein, which is crucial for proper development of growing babies. Besides these, Quinoa also has good quantities of iron, manganese, magnesium and other essential nutrients – it’s not called a supergrain for nothing! We’ve already featured a Quinoa Apple Porridge for kids, and now your baby can enjoy all these benefits with a yummy egg yolk quinoa stir fry recipe!

Hi. Can you make this recipe with whole eggs, instead of just the yolk? My 10 month old regularly eats scrambled eggs and omelets – I don’t see why to separate out the yolk, unless there’s a reason to do so? Thanks!

Hi Ruth,
Yes, you can add the whole egg, if you have already introduced egg white. In general, egg yolk has to be introduced first followed by the egg white. This recipe is to be given inbetween, after introducing the egg yolk and before introducing egg white 🙂

Hi,
Add 1 cup (rinsed) quinoa to 2 cups water in a pan. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until quinoa is tender (about 15 minutes). You can use the white or brown ones which you buy from the trusted source.
