The vision behind the birth of MyLittleMoppet was to help moms feed their children in a nutritious way. In this journey I met several people who had contributed to my knowledge of Nutrition.
One such important person was Ms Dhvani Shah. We got acquainted through my Facebook group ” Kids Food Recipes” . I was impressed by her depth of knowledge and the way she approaches Nutrition. When she mentioned about her Books I thought they will be just another routine cookbooks. Nah!! It was like I was put through a crash course on nutrition !! with loads of innovative and yummy recipes.
Dhvani Shah has authored 2 books

Who is this book for?
It is definitely for picky and fussy eating children. All the recipes are so nutrition packed and easy to make that even adults can have a go !!.
What is in the book?
The book starts with The FIMS theory (Food is Medicine and Supplement)
” Food is the simplest Drug available to all without so much as a prescription”Tweet this
True to its statement, the wonders of food and its healing properties can be used as your daily doses of medicine, cosmetic products, supplements, antibiotic or growth booster. Food is preventive as well as curative. It is time we take our food seriously!
The Eat Rite Principle
The Eat Rite way of nutrition combines the science and technology of modern dietetics with the goodness of FIMS approach.
Bodycodes
This is the most important part of the book where Dhvani has classified the body structures of children to four categories from Type A to Type B with illustrations and explanation.
Once we figure out our child’s bodycode, Dhvani has listed out the nutritional needs and best-suited ingredients for that particular bodycode.
I found my son’s body code to be Petite and Large Headed and noted down the basic ingredients which I should feed him more 🙂
All her recipes are based on the “The Tens Principle” they are
T – Tasty
E – Exciting
N – Nourishing
S – Specific Needs
How to use the book?
Tiffin Lunch
The biggest headache for us moms is what to pack as lunch for school? Most of the time, the tiffin box comes back untouched and my son complaining ” Mom, I don’t want the same tiffin every other day!!” and If I create something Innovative!! and pack for lunch, it also comes uneaten complaining about taste, texture or it becomes soggy !!
Now with Dhvani’s Tiffin Lunch Recipe book, no worries 🙂 I have 30 odd great yummy recipes to try out.
The Recipes start with pointers to make a healthy yet appealing packed lunch.
- Make Lunch interesting.
- Nutrition packed meal.
- How to pack a Non-messy Lunch?
- Pre-prepare rather than Prepacked.
- Pack correctly.
- How to plan and prepare a balanced lunch?
- The meal plan according to body code types.
The recipes are of almost all varieties like
- Wraps
- Rice Preparations
- Rotis and Parathas
- Sandwiches

Pumpkin Thalipeeth.
Beans Buns.
Cocoa Biscuit Balls.
Each recipe is described in a simple way with approximate cooking and preparation time with the calorie values too.
Even the Sweet Treats are healthy and nutritious using natural ingredients.
Snack Treats
There is a lot of confusion as “What is snacks?” It is generally perceived as a something like chips or any unhealthy items, and when I tell people that a baby or toddler should have atleast 2 snacks a day, they gape at me!!! 2 snacks for a baby!!!
Dhvani clearly explains what a snack is
” It is meal between meals and is an Energy booster meal to provide energy in small packets throughout the day”
Here again very useful pointers on
” How to plan a Healthy Snack?”
- Energy giving foods
- Body building foods
- Fillers and Micronutrient Providers
- Power packed Foods
- Flavor Enhancers and Catalysts
She also lists what snacks should be had for a particular activity like sports, dancing, indoor activities, martial arts, study sessions, leisure activities.
There are about 30 odd yummy snack treats, to name a few
Cheesy Spinach Pops
Herbed Hummus with Pita sticks
Peppery Vegetable Idlis
