If you remember, some of the first toys your baby played with were related to building things, like stacking rings and wooden blocks. As kids grow, they move on to building towers out of bricks and forts out of pillows and blankets. All this just proves one thing – kids are born engineers!
Wooden blocks and plastic bricks may seem like the usual things children use to build. But here’s another toy that works just as well or even better to develop your child’s engineering skills – your good ol’ Hot Wheels! Yes, #BuildwithHotWheels is a brand new campaign that encourages kids to build with components from the Hot Wheels engineering series of track sets. Hot Wheels cars are immensely popular and every child’s first choice for die cast cars. With the Hot Wheels engineering series, you can now have endless possibilities for play with your favourite cars! Check out the video below to see how you can build a whole new world with the Hot Wheels Power Booster Kit from the Hot Wheels Engineering Series. Presenting – Desert Storm!
I’m pretty sure you can recognize the smiling guy in the video – yes, it’s Rob, of Pogo’s MAD fame! Rob is a huge hit with kids of all ages, especially because of his incredible creativity and the way he finds fun ways to use regular objects lying around the house. Just look at how he’s created an awesome desert terrain with foam cactus and cardboard buildings and yes, lots of sand! He has even created a realistic dinosaur skeleton using board! By incorporating the tracks, connectors and loops along with the Power Booster, he has managed to create cool racing track for your Hot Wheels cars. Let your cars race along the tracks, spin through the loops and crash into the skeleton. But who will finally make it to the oasis in the middle of the desert? We’ll have to race and see!
Become an engineer and #BuildwithHotWheels!
All the Hot Wheels tracks connect to each other, allowing you to make as complex a track system as you like. Adding extra elements encourages purposeful play, as the kids gather more information. What kind of plants do you find in a desert? Why do the buildings there have roofs like that? How will the track stay stable on the sand? How do I make the loop larger? More questions mean more experimentation – and of course, more fun!
So you see, Hot Wheels cars don’t just bring out the racer in your kid, they bring out the engineer too! You can either play with your child and find answers to their problems together, or leave them alone so that they can potter around to find their own solutions. This is also a great idea for siblings to get together and work as a team! Say ‘good bye’ to fights over toys and ‘hello’ to your engineering team!
How would your little engineers like to meet Rob in person? Yes, it’s possible! Get your kids to meet Rob at a Hot Wheels hosted event on November 13th at Phoenix Market City, Kurla, Mumbai. You can even get to witness the construction of a LIVE Hot Wheels world, built by Rob himself!
