1. From what age can sathumaavu or health mix be given?
Sathumaavu can be given after 6 months and after introduction of the basic foods like rice and dal. So ideally by completion of 6 to 7 months it can be given.
2. Should the ingredients washed and dried before dry roasting?
If the ingredients are from a reputed brand then there is no need of washing and drying, they can be directly dry roasted.
3. How much to start with ?
Start with one tablespoon of porridge and slowly increase it upto 3 tablespoon or 100 ml
4. Since sattumaavu has many ingredients can it be given to babies without allergy?
Yes, sathumaavu can be given after 6 months and after introducing all the first foods, start with one tablespoon of powder and slowly increase it following the 3 day rule
5. If we are just starting solids now, when can these be given?
Then please wait for atleast 15 to 20 days before starting these powders
6. Can be given with milk?
If your child is above 1 year, it can be given with milk
7. Can be cooked in formula?
No, formula should never be cooked, after making the porridge with water, formula can be added while serving the baby.
8. How many days can these be stored?
They can be stored for 1 month outside and 3 to 6 months in refrigerator.
9. How to store the powder?
Always store them in an airtight container in a dry cool place
10. How long can these be kept after preparing?
Please discard the porridge after 2 hours of preparation.
11. {Sprouted Health Mix} I live abroad and we don’t get good sunlight, can I dry them in shade under fan inside the house?
Yeah it can , take care that the sprouts are well dried and crisp, Yes you can grind in mixer, after grinding sieve it to fine powder with a fine sieve.
12. Should I peel the skin of almonds?
Not necessary
13. Can I dry roast the powder and add hot water without cooking the porridge?
Since it has many ingredients it is best if cooked over the stove.

15. I tried to make fine powder of Cashew and Badam, which became paste. Can I mix this paste with the remaining ingredients powder?
They can be stored separately and added while making the porridge.
16. What is quantity in 1 cup in gms and ml?
1 cup is equal to 200 gms or 236 ml
17. I powdered the ingredients at home but they look coarse what to do?
Sieve them once and powder the coarse particles separately to result in fine powder and the sieve the whole mixture 2 or 3 times till you get a fine powder.
18. Can I add breastmilk to the porridge?
Yes it can be added
