At the same time, it should be something convenient to make without requiring you to pack a whole kitchen with you. Thatโs why our instant groundnut poha porridge powder is your perfect choice!
This instant groundnut poha porridge powder recipe has calorie-rich poha, protein and iron-rich groundnuts and Bengal gram in it. This instant mix can be stored in an airtight container and refrigerated for 2 to 3 months. To make the porridge, all you need is the mix and piping hot water and the meal is ready!!
This recipe is suitable for babies over 6 months.
Instant Groundnut Poha Porridge Powder
Ingredients:
- Poha โ 1 cup
- Groundnut โ 3 tbsp
- Bengal gram โ 4 tbsp
Instructions:
1. Heat a pan and dry roast the poha till it becomes crunchy. Keep it aside.
2. Next, dry roast the ground nuts. Keep it aside.
3. Dry roast the Bengal gram. Keep it aside. Let everything cool.
4. When cool, remove the skins of the nuts and put them in a grinder jar.
5. Grind the nuts to a fine powder.
6. Add the poha and Bengal gram and grind again.
7. Store the powder in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for up to 3 months.
8. To make the porridge, add 2 tablespoons of Groundnut Poha Porridge Powder in a bowl.
9. Add piping hot water gradually, stirring all the time.
10. Stir till there are no lumps left. The porridge is ready.

- Calories 381
- Protein 12 .39 g.
- Iron 15 .63 mg.
- Carotene 22 .6 ฮผg
You can add fruit purees to the porridge to sweeten it. This recipe is a great travel food for babies, but itโs important to introduce the mix prior to travel so the baby is familiar with it. The preparation method given here is a basic guideline. The mix and water ratio can be changed according to the babyโs liking.

Thanks for easy to made recipes for infants. My baby is of 10 months old. I read it as Bengal gram in recipe and appears same in picture as well, but noticed your comment in one of the queries that’s it’s chana dal. I already made it with Bengal gram, not one but two recipes( poha and puffed rice) before noticing your comment. Can I still feed the baby those 2 recipes made with with bengals gram ?

Yes, you can. Especially if it is a family’s preferred option the baby will adapt. Give small quantities to allow baby time to adapt.

You can give this till 1 to 2 hours after preparation and cerealac is a commercial preparation so it should be given, however this is homemade and can given till 2 hours after preparation
