Kiwi fruit isn’t something that was common in Indian homes, but it’s now available even in local supermarkets. This small fruit that’s fuzzy on the outside has quite a bit of flavor packed on the inside. The green flesh is both sweet and tangy, with edible black seeds. Kiwi fruit is rich in vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin E, folate and potassium. It also has a lot of antioxidants and fiber, making it an excellent food for growing babies. However, the flesh has a slightly acidic nature, which makes it better for babies over 9 months of age. Once you’ve followed the 3 day rule and tried kiwi successfully with your baby, you can go ahead with this Kiwi banana puree recipe.
Kiwi Banana Puree for Babies
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe kiwi fruit
- 1 ripe banana
Method:
1. Peel the kiwi, by cutting off the skin from all sides to get only the flesh.
2. Slice the kiwi and chop the banana roughly.
3. Transfer to a blender jar and pulse until you get a smooth lump free puree.
4. Serve the puree fresh to your baby .
This Kiwi banana puree will give your baby quite a kick of flavors! The tartness of the kiwi and the sweetness of the banana combine well. As your baby gets older, make the puree a little lumpier, so that she can try different textures as well. Just the pretty green color will be enough to make it appealing to your little one!
